Bien Dans Sa Peau

some new finds and a new (hopeful home)

This is a home that I am beyond excited about.  After all the homes we have looked at for months...we are finally putting an offer in on this home on Tuesday.  Then begins the agonizing process of the "game" that is real estate buying...contingencies etc.. I am praying and praying.  This home has everything that I ever wanted ...my checklists of wants are all checked!  I lay in bed decorating in my head.  I told my realtor I would die if I dont get this house and she rolled her eyes and said "Of course you wont Laura"...and of course she is right.  However ,I do so want this house.  I am willing the house through my " house to Laura telepathic energy" not to let anyone else like it and not to let anyone else buy it except me....assuming of course that the house has that power and really dont you think that perhaps there is that kind of energy??....(kidding---sort of :)).  I told the house that it was mine...and I am sure it was waiting for me...and that I would be there soon!  OK....positive thinking doesn't hurt!!...nor does losing my mind a bit....at least the realtor says its nice that I am excited!  If all goes well...I'll post more pics...otherwise?
These I got for my daughters room...we'll see if she likes them...otherwise I like the  monarch one for a bathroom maybe???  I dont know it was one of those strange things I bought...and wondered about...:)
I dont think this mirror is made of wood...which bums me out...I thinks its resin or plastic..I dont know..but I do love it anyway!
I am going to paint this coat rack gold...

Items I am waiting for in the mail! New quilt ideas

Isnt this a cool clock!  There are 2 drawers that open on the bottom...I fell in love with it.
This is a portfolio of old french illustrations....I plan on framing some of them in a grouping.
A sculpture I loved....cant wait for it!  Contemplative Ballerina
I am going to start doing French Oil paintings for my quilts....this may be hard...but I want to try and see what happens as this is what I want on my walls....I will incorporate some painting on the fabric as well as "stitch drawing" and perhaps some other embellishments....I have to see what happens.  I am excited about this new direction.  I dont know if I will start this summer or wait till fall....I am hoping to have moved to a new home in the fall so I may wait to get all settled in the new studio space...and also, I am just so busy outdoors with the nice weather...like everybody else, that its not as inciting to me to sit inside and work on my art.

New Fabrics for new quilt--still designing!

“Die when I may, I want it said by those who knew me best that I always plucked a thistle and planted a flower where I thought a flower would grow.”

New fabrics for my new quilt....I am still designing....but I DO LOVE these fabrics!!!!
This book is so good...I started it last night right before bed...and went to bed too late because of it!  She also wrote Still Alice...which I have not read but will as soon as I am done with this one!

Done with the top of "Mosaic Squares"!

Not good pictures...just laying on the top of my table and I couldn't get at a good angle..and its actually not even the right way..it will hang vertically not horizontally as shown....plus, the sunshine is coming in on it....but it is done!  Not the quilting...just the top.  I love how it turned out.  I will take another picture of it hanging on the wall when its all done.  This was really fun... a lesson in imperfection and not worrying about it.  Stripes were intentionally not cut perfect and do not lie even on the small pieces..thus causing your eye to move quite a bit...it causes movement.  Each square is a different size and not even perfectly rectangle or square at all.... I didnt even measure the placement of each larger square..I just eyeballed so it didnt bother me...but again, intentionally did not want anything perfect.  I would recommend everyone try doing this type of thing every once in awhile to let loose! :)
Just finished this book and it is very very very good...I highly recommend it!
This is on the top of my list of things I would love to buy.....(someday before it is not available any more)....one of those things no one NEEDS but I sure do want!  It is from Signals catalog.  It just makes me happy.  Sigh....
This is one of my smartest and best purchases that came in the mail today!  Used prescription glasses frames.  I got them on shopgoodwill.com for 12.00!!! (Plus shipping).  I broke the only pair I had and haven't been able to afford new glasses as they are, as many of you know, very expensive.  These are really nice frames.  I am just going to have them pop these lenses out and put my prescription in! (Whoever had these was blind as a bat and I cant even see what I look like with them on its such a blur :)) A savings of hundreds I am sure!  yea for me!
